While doing RAW processing to develop photo and digital cinema, we strive to utilize sofisticated demosaicing algorithms to get better quality our of RAW.

Pro and Con for Amaze and MG algorithms

MG (Multiple Gradients) demosaicing algorithm is based on the idea to check many different gradients to discover best direction for color interpolation.

Amaze algorithm stands for "Aliasing Minimization and Zipper Elimination". It means that together with high quality demosaicing we can run additional modules to minimize aliasing and zipper artifacts. This is algorithm with GPL license.

Both algorithms are considered to be high-quality and they are utilized in well-known software. You can see Amaze at Raw Therapee, Fast Raw Viewer, MLV App and other applications. MG is a proprietory algorithm from Fastvideo company and you can see it at Fast CinemaDNG Processor software.
